East Region Age Group Championships 2015 PDF Print E-mail
The East region Age Group championships took place at the UEA sportspark between Saturday 23rd and Monday 25th May. This was the first year of the new format which featured events spread across one long weekend with heats taking place during the first two sessions of each day and finals in the last session of each day. Also new to the format was the introduction of 50m events for all four strokes for the age groups and the new ages being 11/12, 13 and 14 all being age as of end of the year.

Norwich Sports Awards - Team of the Year 2015 PDF Print E-mail
A very enjoyable evening was had by all at the Norwich Sports Awards 2015 held at City Hall on Wednesday 3rd June.  Ten of UEA City of Norwich swimmers attended the awards ceremony to represent our National Junior League Team who won the Team of the Year trophy for their massive achievement at the Junior League final in Corby!  It was an inspiring evening full of sporting excellence which included awards for sporting school, sporting volunteer, adult achiever, disability sport to name but a few.

Norwich 2015 British National Champs Qualifiers

Nationals-Photo2015 UEA City of Norwich Swimming Club has a large team of 23 for this years British and English summer swimming championships. The competitions will be held at the Ponds Forge Centre in Sheffield from the 28th July through to the 9th August. For the first time this year swimmers had to post their best times

British Masters, Seniors & Age Group Champs PDF Print E-mail
Manchester Aquatics, Fri 12th/Sat 13th/Sun14th June 2015.

 This event, over one long weekend is the biggest competition in the Masters swimming calendar where several British Records were broken.

 Seven UEACoNSC swimmers took part, competing in 30 races between them.  The results were fantastic with 8 Bronze, 5 Silver & 1 Gold medals claimed, together with some fine PB's!! Great results all round!

  Notably, Catherine Markwell medaled in every swim & broke the ER record in the 50m freestyle!

Katie Nesbitt appointed Athlete Representative PDF Print E-mail
KNesbitt UEA City of Norwich National Youth swimmer Katie Nesbitt has been appointed an Athlete Representative by The UK Sport Association under their ‘Your Sport, Your Voice’ programme.
One of only 11 young athletes chosen from a Nationwide pool of up and coming stars of the future, her role will include supporting the 14 ‘Ambassadors’, comprising learning disabled athletes from the tops of their individual disciplines.

Level 1 Teaching and Coaching Courses in Norwich PDF Print E-mail
We are pleased to announce that we will be delivering a level 1 Teachers course during the summer holidays and a level 1 coaching course in the October half term.  The teaching course will be at Thorpe St Andrews school and in conjunction with our splashdown course.  This is a great opportunity for people to become teachers, but also a great opportunity for coaches to upskill their qualification to underpin their technical knowledge. Learners must be a minimum of 16 years of age to apply. The coaching course will follow our normal format at the Hewett during the October Half term.
